1000100101 Black - another cryptic Japanese wristwatch for you

21/02/2010 23:04

1000100101 Black, from Tokyoflash, is yet another cool looking watch with a somewhat tricky display. This one comes with brushed black finish and all blue LED’s.

You have AM & PM modes, month, date and day-of-the-week. There’s also an optional auto light up feature that sets off every 15 minutes between 6PM and midnight.

Oh yeah, here’s another cryptic Japanese wristwatch for you; 1000100101 Black featuring a leather strap with a carbon fibre style front and an IP Black brushed aluminum casing decorated with bright blue LED’s. Besides telling the time in a quite advanced way it can use the LED’s to animate a range of “sci-fi light patterns” as well.

Wondering how to tell the time despite those helping markers on the front?

And if you actually do care about the time, this is how you read it:

Telling the time uses the 4 marked areas on the face. The first single light indicates 10 hours, the next 9 are 1 hour each. These are used to indicate hours 1-12.
The next 5 lights represent 10 mins each & the last 9 are 1 min each. Using these you can read 1-59 minutes.

Geomesh is the name of yet another cool looking watch

Geomesh is the name of yet another cool looking watch from the Japanese Tokyoflash company. As always, reading the time is a bit tricky.

The face consists of a mirrored grid with 27 LED’s which lights up in various patterns that cryptically tell the time. Here’s how it works (take a look at the photo below for reference):

Hours are indicated by counting the vertical lights & minutes by the horizontal lights. The minute lights can indicate 5 mins each light or 1 minute depending on the configuration – sounds complicated, but not really that difficult.

The Green (vertical) lights are hours. The Yellow (horizontal) lights are 5 mins each & the Red 1 minute each. The same applies to the other models, just the color is different.

Geomesh available in a brushed Gunmetal finish with either White, Blue or Multi-color LED’s.

Tokyoflash Watch - Q Version

Tokyoflash Watch - Q Version

The people over at the Japanese watch importer Tokyoflash doesn’t seem to slow down just because they’ve released the Oberon a couple of days ago.

They have already something new and cool cooking. There isn’t much information available for the forthcoming Q version yet. Actually, there isn’t even a release date set yet, but they “expect it will be Jan/Feb 2008″.

Judging from the product photos it looks like we’ll have two different models to choose from; one black and one silver – both with a brushed Gunmetal finish.

Galaxy - stylish timepiece

Galaxy - stylish timepiece

Tokyoflash has announced yet another stylish timepiece in their steadily growing stream of hard-to-read-but-nice-to-look-at watches.

Galaxy, as this latest model is called, features a “powerful formation of multi-colored light bars, developed using digital tube technology”.

Housed in a sleek, newly designed polished silver case and finished with a custom linked, brushed silver strap with polished detail, this design offers you the chance to wear a fashion statement, unlikely to be seen anywhere else on the planet.

And here’s how you read the time:

The cryptic looking display is deceptively easy to read; one touch of the upper button initiates a programmed animation of light, and then presents the time. Twelve yellow bars represent hours in a clock wise direction, eleven red bars represent groups of five minutes and four green bars show single minutes. Pressing the lower button presents the time immediately.

sWaP is an analog cell phone watch

sWaP is an analog cell phone watch that actually looks like something you could wear without feeling like a complete moron. Here you will get a watch with phone capabilities, not a cell phone with a strap attached to it.

It not only tells the time, but the wearer can pop in their SIM card to transform the watch into a wrist communicator a la Dick Tracy. And there’s more. Built into the strap is a 1.3 megapixel camera, so you can sneakily snap all of those top secret government documents you keep finding left on the pub table – or you could just take pics of your mates.

The memory card slot allows you to insert a T-Flash card to upgrade the already impressive 128MB memory to a whopping 2GB. With all that memory you’ll have no problem storing all your MP3s and you can even watch MP4 movies on the 1.5 TFT colour touch screen. You can access WAP sites, bringing the world wide web to your wrist and the watch is Bluetooth enabled, so if you’re sick of getting tangled up in your hands free kit you can banish the wires forever.
